“Building a Family of Families”

Our Goal

This is our Vision; the final outcome we want to accomplish.

“Our goal is to be a family of families that loves God and loves people, helping them become fully committed followers of Jesus Christ."

Our Plan

This is our mission; how to accomplish our goal; bring our vision into reality.

“We will create avenues of adoption by which the whole family is equipped to make deepening commitments to Conversations, Community, Christ, and Calling.”

Where did our unique purpose come from?

“WE BELIEVE A GREAT COMMITMENT

TO THE GREAT COMMANDMENTS

AND THE GREAT COMMISSION

WILL GROW A GREAT CHURCH!”

-Rick Warren, Purpose Driven

The Great Commandments: Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:36-40).

The Great Commission: Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).

When combined with family language and the spiritual concept of adoption we start to clarify the language we use when describing our purpose:

The Family of God: The Apostle John said, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,” (John 1:12)

Adoption: The Apostle Paul said, “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 1:5)

Our Church Ministry  = Family Building

  • To “Love God” is ministry to God through WORSHIP.

  • To “Love your neighbor” is ministry to others through CARE and MISSIONS

Our Church Programs = Adoption Process

  • To “Go” is EVANGELISM.

  • To “Make Disciples” is DISCIPLESHIP.

  • To “Baptize” is to adopt them into FELLOWSHIP.

  • To “Teach them to obey” is SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
